Grants in this priority area include a maximum of $500 to purchase books for families to keep or for supplies for family literacy programs. Funds are to be used only for purchases of materials, supplies, and / or equipment, which are project specific. This could include:

• Books, book-making and related craft material 
• Printing costs

What sorts of grants in this priority group have been funded in the past?

• Birthday Books - books chosen for each child in the school given on their birthday.
• Bookmaking materials for families to create books about and for their family.  Books were in English and their first language.
• Books and refreshments for Book Club.  Students select and keep the books for the book club.
• Books for prisoners to read and record on CD for their children
• Book Bags workshop for 10 families
